As a Chartered Surveyor, Nicholas’ (“Nick’s”) real estate and fund management career stretches back to the late 1980s and since 2000 he has been working with Gulf based investors travelling widely throughout the Middle East. Nick concentrates on delivering profitable results for 90 North’s investors, working with them in close partnership, focusing on the real estate fundamentals and driving all elements of the active asset management process from acquisition through to sale.
Over the last 4½ years he has been living in the Gulf, most recently working at Shari’ah compliant Unicorn Investment Bank as Head of Investment Development & Distribution. During the last 12 months he was also based in Jordan applying his skill-set to helping turn around and complete Unicorn’s Taj Mall, a $250,000,000 prime mall and leisure development in Abdoun, Amman in order to best protect investors equity.
Prior to that, Nick was Head of Real Estate Fund Management at Shari’ah compliant Gulf Finance House for two years. He initiated, built and marketed investment products whilst also managing GCC and European portfolios.
Before moving to the Gulf, Nick was Property Fund Manager at Capital Trust Limited, a Mayfair based private equity and real estate business serving mainly GCC based clients, becoming a Founder Equity Partner of CapReal LLP, Capital Trust’s real estate operation. Managing a substantial European real estate portfolio worth circa £300,000,000, which the CT Group initiated, structured, marketed and invested since 2000, he achieved very attractive exited returns for investors as the UK real estate market peaked in the latter half of 2006 and first half of 2007.
Nick’s direct real estate experience started with Knight Frank and Strutt & Parker, qualifying as a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) in 1991.
Nicholas has an MBA, and a BSc in Estate Management.
